Municipality promotes SMMEs with new website

The Stellenbosch Municipality Local Economic Development Department facilitated the development of an SMME Website (www.linkhub.co.za) and SMME booklet in order to create an electronic marketing platform for SMME’s to showcase their products and services and to lure possible procurement opportunities and investment to grow their businesses.

This project is in line with the Municipality’s vision which is the Innovation Capital of South and Africa underpinned by the goal of establishing Stellenbosch as the preferred investment destination for businesses and entrepreneurs thereby creating wealth.

The website and pocket guide aims to: 

  • Connect SMME’s with each other and with potential local and international consumers 
  • Connect them to business support services & opportunities 
  • Increase their income & market share

The Greater Stellenbosch

The 900 square kilometres municipal area is internationally renowned for its beautiful environment, many places of interest, wine farms, street cafes, restaurants, quality wines, historical buildings and excellent educational institutions.

The major portion of the area is utilised for agriculture (mainly wine production) and it includes the towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and settlements such as Klapmuts, Koelenhof, Kylemore, Johannesdal, Pniel, Jamestown and Raithby.

Stellenbosch town is 50 km to the east of Cape Town and is - after Cape Town - the oldest town in South Africa.
